Can't Find Router

HiI had my installation yesterday and have been able to connect my phone and laptop to the broadband, yet my home PC can't detect it. I've tried everything but it just doesn't appear in the list of available!What am I doing wrong?Thanks 

Red light on Virgin Media Hub

 I have tried the reset and nothing happens.  The red light is still showing.  The hub is in a ventilated position away from other items.  Based on other responses I need to be sent a new hub please.
