Slow speeds on Gig1

Hello,

My speeds used to be fine since Virgin come out about a year ago to run a new cable, although I noticed the last week or so I am getting less than 300mbps. Can someone check my figures to see if something is out?

Speed tests were carried out from my router hardwired into the modem.

DS channels 10 and 37 are struggling with errors. What are your upstream channels showing?

Check for local faults on 0800 561 0061 and ensure all cables and connections are tight and in good condition.

That's what I was thinking it might be something up with those channels. Upstream is as follows:

Lots of T3 errors on US channel 3. Otherwise largely okay. What does the phone line I gave say?

Is this via hardwired Ethernet or WiFi?

I think the 1Gb router spits out 2.4G and 5G, have you turned off 2.4G in the router setting so it’s all 5G?  You’ll never get 1Gb on WiFi on most devices.  My iPhone15 only gets about 850Mb max

Is the hub in router mode, so you can let it do a samknows speed test?

Phone line says no issues in area. I am using a 3rd party router to the Virgin hub which is in modem mode. Unfortunately It's a bit of a pain to switch the hub from modem mode to router mode to do a Sam Knows test. The speeds I am getting are from the routers speed test which is hardwired to the modem. As I said in the original post, everything has been fine for a while and nothing has changed on my side so I know the setup on my side does work at full speeds, something appears to have changed though.

VM will insist on the Hub being in Router mode before they will do any troubleshooting. You should also do the SamKnows speed test as VM will most likely ask for it anyway.  You can go back to modem mode once you have run the speed test.
