unable to plug into wall socket

As part of installation, need to push the red label end of the white cable into wall socket but at my home can see there is already some black end of the white cable already attached to it which I cannot remove. Please see the attached picture. Could you help please?

You need a spanner to unfasten the nut indicated.

Then the connector of the cable with the red label pushes over the exposed thread.

Just to add the installation is upside down for some reason. If you prefer not to have an upside down installation you will need to request a manned install. 

I'm not a Very Insightful Person (just a little bit, sometimes). I don't work for Virgin Media (but then nor do any of the offshore customer service agents).

I have the same problem in my house. If the box was the right way up the outlet would foul the skirting board, so I chose to have it the wrong way up rather than have it further up the wall.
