Hi Barry007

Yes you can move to a cheaper O2 sim without it affecting your VM Volt contract, however do a little homework first and check the pricing on the O2 website, and then compare that pricing on other sites.

You could keep your Volt benefits by purchasing a 30GB (other tarifs are also available) O2 sim which is currently £9.99 a month from uswitch < here >

With uswitch.com, you get the option to login to your O2 account, then if you select that you don't want a new SIM card sending out it lets you keep your current O2 number and starts a new 12 month contract at that new price which nulls out the price you were paying O2.

I changed my O2 sim via uswitch and am now paying O2 £10 a month for 50GB (boosted to 100GB)

Hi Dave,

Did you change mid contract because I see my O2 contract is due to renew soon and it would be easier to do it before I go away.

Thank you

Hi Roy,

I did it when I recontracted my Ultimate Volt bundle which was ending, however it can be done when in contract (special thanks to @unisoft) You can see their post <here>

Hi Dave,

I get this message, I think it might be best to wait.

Hi again Roy

It looks like you have another 8 months on your contract, however as long as you switch that number to a different tarif with them via uswitch then I believe you won't be charged the early termination charge

I'm not too sure, hopefully  @unisoft will confirm if they see this post, but they did say, ' O2 a few months ago added a warning about early termination charges, but it gets zeroed out in the checkout confirmation page'

Looks like the date I was looking at on the app on the phone is my next billing date, can't find the contract date on the app, it must be there somewhere.

Signed into O2 and can find all the contract details easily and it does say 2025.
