Hub 5x Modem Mode appears to be here - 15/09/24

Is it just me, or is it just another glitch, or is it finally here for everyone...?

I now have Modem Mode as a normal menu option.

Anyone else?

I've spent that long getting my Hub 5x settings configured, and put all my Huawei AX3s into Wifi repeater Mode, that I'm too nervous to test it all over again in a Modem only setup lol. 

I don't see why it wouldn't work though, given that the issue was never one of it 'not working', but rather one of it "not being a menu option present at all".

I'm sure someone else will tell us though...

As a proof of concept, one could test the Hub 5x in modem mode with a single PC / laptop connected.

My concern is not to the network itself - it is in losing all the many settings I configured within the Hub for my current environment.

 

So I could easily test to a PC. I even have one of my Huawei AX3 routers right next to my Hub.

 

It's losing all my current settings that prevents me testing it...

 

I don't really want to change my existing hub settings when I'm currently hitting a full 2Gb Down and Up on wired, and this on my mobile phones OVER WIFI:

Leave well alone with that connection !

Modem mode is still not available - must be a glitch somewhere. If it were... this board would be alight with happy punters 😎

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & TNT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi), Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

I have the same software build but I don't see the option yet. Got my hopes up then but no joy. Really wish they had given an option to have an ONT and supply our own solution.

So a bit of bad news from Virgin (courtesy of ispreview.co.uk who looked into this for me): "This is actually a GUI error that the team have become aware of today and they’re working to remove it as a visible option. This should be done shortly."

 

Talk about Virgin Media being utterly incompetent.  Bad enough they can't give us a Modem Mode.  Now they erroneously give us a setting for it, that isn't actually real or working

 

Give me strength.

Maybe it was planned to see how many people want modem mode of course people would have to know there hub got update to know.
