Hub 4 / Hub 5 Modem Mode - WiFi On or Off?

I currently have a Hub 4 in modem mode but it’s still broadcasting the WiFi SSID.

Is this normal for the Hub 4 and is Hub 5 any better.

I.e with Hub 5 does the WiFi actually stop broadcasting in Modem mode.

Trying to figure out if I need to get Virgin to replace my Hub 4. Not happy with it still broadcasting even though you can’t connect to it

Thanks

Turn hub off do you still see the SSID?

Hi goninda1,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

When the hub is switched into Modem Mode, the WiFi is essentially shut off so it wouldn't be able to broadcast the SSID. Could it be that the device you are looking on has any saved networks showing? Do you have a router connected to the hub with the same SSID? Or any WiFi extenders connected with the same SSID?

As mentioned by legacy1, when turning the hub off completely by the mains, is the SSID still there?

Pop back and let us know so we can help further.

Thanks,

What colour is the LED on the hub? Do you have power line adapters?

Are you sure it's not an AP or range extender/pod broadcasting the same SSID?
