Upgrade Emails

Virgin keep send me emails saying I can upgrade to 1GB for an extra £3 per month but every time I click on the link it says

You are not eligible for this particular offer

Unfortunately you have missed out on this offer but we have plenty of other offerings that you could be interested in.

What is the point of sending me the emails if I'm not entitled to the offer?

This is a very common tactic reported here many times.  An attractive but unavailable offer is made to get you interesed, in the hope that you will make contact and be sold something more expensive.

If you don't actually need the extra speed, just ignore it.
