Downgrade package without new contract?

We want to get rid of our TV from our package amd have broadband only, however we are on a monthly rolling contract which we like incase we move and don't want it anymore.

Virgin won't downgrade our package without starting a new 18 month contract. Does this seem right? Any way around it? Thanks!

Alas no that’s perfectly normal, making most changes* to the current agreement, triggers a new 18 month minimum term contract.

* Something trivial, adding caller display to a phone contract, removing/adding a TV channel pack, won’t do it, removing an entire service, absolutely will.

If you have any promotional discounts on your package, then removing one service triggers a complete re-bundle of your remaining services. Effectively the discount is in exchange for the 18month minimum term on those agreed services.

The only alternative is to pay full standard prices for your services, with no discounts.

Hey khabib0460, thank you for reaching out with your question today.

As mentioned any change like this would set off a new contact, however as the advice above we can confirm this is true. Cheers
