T3 and T4 timeouts after outage

carl_pearce

After a recent outage I've been seeing a lot of T3 and T4 errors.

The below is following a reboot of the HUB (5) two days ago:

The connection itself appears 'ok', however, something is amiss.

Service status shows ok sometimes, and local issues occasionally.

Would be useful to know if VM are are aware and looking into it.

Thanks.

Hi carl_pearce,

Thanks for coming back to us on this one. Checking things here, the hub is showing online, power and signal levels are all within the optimal range and there is nothing showing for your area. The hub is showing an uptime of 15 days so please reboot the hub fully. This will reset the errors and refresh your connection.

Keep an eye on how the connection is and let us know if you have any issues. A few timeouts isn't uncommon but do let us know what issues with the connection you're having too so we can help further.

Thanks,

Over 800 timeouts in three days is not what I would consider normal.

I will do as you ask and report back.

It always has looked 'ok', yet the timeouts persist.

what about if you run this test

Continuous internet speed test tool (startrinity.com)

Good Morning @carl_pearce, can you please confirm if you've been able to run the test advised by @legacy1 to offer us any updates?

Thanks,

David_Bn

No, I've not.

However, I've done as @Kath_F asked and this is the result (Rebooted the HUB around 2 days, 7 hours since):

3.1 Upstream channels

Channel Channel Width (MHz) Power (dBmV) FFT Type Modulation
61034.52KQAM 256

3.1 Upstream channels

Channel Channel Type Number of Active Subcarriers First Active Subcarrier (Hz) T3 Timeouts T4 Timeouts
6OFDMA20074000000843

Thanks for coming back to us @carl_pearce, if it possible to attempt the test suggested by @legacy1 to see what result is generated?

Have you seen any disturbances in the services since the fixing of the recent outage, as referenced in the original post?

Thanks

David_Bn

Yes, packet loss which matches with error in HUB log:

3.1 Upstream channels

Channel Channel Width (MHz) Power (dBmV) FFT Type Modulation

3.1 Upstream channels
