Re: Internet drops out almost every day I suspect a faulty HUB 5 Re: 1Gb volt but WiFi a lot less? What device is it? What does the 'Connected Devices' section show for the device when accessing the HUB settings on 192.168.0.1? Re: WiFi to Fibre Optic Switch It's not 'simple' as what you are describing doesn't make sense. Wi-Fi is how your devices connect to the provided hardware from the ISP, not a type of broadband connection that VM supplies. Re: Internet dropping + VOIP down after HUB 5X router update to version 7.8.3-2410.5 The HUBs don't use HTTPS so I'd expect an error. Re: No WiFi connection You need a backup connection when working from home as you cannot rely on a residential connection with no SLA. https://www.virginmedia.com/help/billing-and-payments/automatic-compensationv Re: Slow Wifi Speeds on Hub5 for 1gbps broadband What are the devices capable of? There are several Wi-Fi standards, not to mention 100's of chipsets and models of Wi-Fi adapters: https://www.wiisfi.com/ If you access the HUB, and select the 'Connected Devices' section you'll see the 'Connected speed', which is an indication of the device's capability based on several factors including distance from HUB, hardware being used in the device, interference from other wireless networks in the area, etc. Re: Embarrassingly slow speed Have you tried using the utility that shows the connected speed between the powerline adapters? https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/download/tl-pa7017p-kit/#Utility Gigabit is just the ethernet speed, not the speed you'll see over your eletrical circuit. Real world speed is like Wi-Fi, don't expect the advertised speed! It appears you are seeing full speed to the HUB, so no fault on VM's side (It appears you are on M500, not M350). Yes, you can request the HUB is moved (£25 fixed charge). Re: Embarrassingly slow speed What does this site show? https://www.samknows.com/realspeed/ A 'Gigabit TP-Link range extender' sounds like a powerline adapter, which does not support gigabit speeds, or even M350, depending on the power circuit 'noise'. Wi-Fi speed to one device is guaranteed at 30Mbps, so isn't a true test: https://www.virginmedia.com/wifi-max Re: Ethernet not working Try a full reset (Pin hole press for 30 seconds).
