Damaged cable

Hi, could anyone tell me where online I can report a damaged cable?

It has never been burried correctly since we moved in to the property many years ago

Now worried it is going to cut right though at some point soon due to cars rolling over it

The primary place to report faults or for service requests is Customer Services on 0345 454 1111/150 if you have a VM landline or wait two or three days for a VM staff member to get to your post.

I've popped over a private message to you so I can take your details and get this sorted for you.

Thanks!

On our wavelength

Hello, Yesterday our next door neighbors have just had a virgin cable re-connection. There is a perfectly good underground protection conduit in place however, Without asking about the fence ownership, the fitter's have taken the easy way and cable tied the cable all along my metal railing from path to house, with bare cable laid on the ground either end. The tightly pulled cable ties will cause damage by cracking the fence paintwork so they have been removed. The total cable is presently laid bare on the top of the soil. Suggested solution. Run the new cable back through the existing underground conduit, where it is protected and will not cause damage to my fence and protected from gardening equipment. Thank you

Hi Stiv1,

Thanks for your post on the Community Forums, sorry to hear about this oddly placed cable on your fence!
We'll be able to get this sorted out for you, I'll get a private message sent to you now so we can get it buried in the correct place.

Thanks,

Megan_L

Hi Stiv1,

Thanks for chatting with me, would you be able to post a picture of the cable in question so we can get it forwarded to the local engineering team in your area please?

This way we can correctly convey what works needs to be done, like the OP of this thread has done.

Thanks,

Megan_L
