Will giving my 30 days notice cancel my O2 contract automatically?

I currently have TiVo, internet and phone line from virgin which is bundled with an O2 SIM, I'm looking to hand my 30 day notice in next week, will I need to contact O2 directly or will this be done automatically? I intend to port my number from O2 to a new provider.

If you are porting your mobile number from O2 to another provider then you will need a PAC code. Using the PAC code within 30 days will automatically close the O2 account. If you don't use the PAC code then that account will remain open.

You can get your PAC by texting 'PAC' to 65075 from the number you want to keep - you should get it in a minute or two.
