I'm glad you posted this as I'm having the exact same issue today. Webmail also the same. Like you, I can send to my gmail account from my VM account and receive it in gmail but can't receive into my VM ntlworld account from gmail.
I did receive two emails today but they arrived hours later then they should have and I'm still awaiting others that should have shown up by now. So I don't know what's going on but hope it's something that resolves itself.

I'm getting delays of several hours in receiving my emails with the virginmedia.com domain. This is proving a real problem with sites that email a validation code that expires after 15 mins. I've tried sending test emails from different clients (Outlook and webmail) but all are delayed by several hours. Is this a Virgin Media service issue or something else I should check? Thanks

The same is happening to me.
Interestingly, it started at around lunchtime just after I received the email saying my bill was going up by £9!

After waiting nearly a hour on the phone finally got told a fix would happen between 4 and 24 hours. It's something I suppose, but considering the issue has been happening for the last 5 hours or so, it has taken them a long time to show issues on their status page.
