Hi all
I am trying to watch Sky on demand and getting the error code 408, together with a 'not available at the moment' message. I have restarted the box and checked the Internet connection (ethernet). Can anyone tell me what 408 means?
Thanks
Heather

If this happens again, check non-Sky OnDemand too. Apart from BBC which uses the iPlayer app, the method by which OnDemand is delivered to your TV box is the same for all channels...

Hi Heather,
As per https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-tv-error-codes/408
There may be an issue or some planned work in your area.
Click on the Check service status at the top of the page. You can also a run a test on your equipment from there.
If nothing is showing you could also try the automated Service Status number 0800 561 0061. This often gives details of more local issues down to postcode level.
If nothing shows in either case then you need to contact faults by dialling 150 from a Virgin landline or mobile, or 0345 454 1111, option 2 (Faults)
When calling Faults you will hear the automated response asking you to press 1 for the link to online support etc
Ignore all the options and don't press any buttons then you should be placed into a queue and an agent should pick up the phone and book the tech for you.
Or wait a day or two and a member of the Forum Team should pick this up for you.

Thanks Dave - it's working now! I went through all the things outlined above except for phoning. The website was down yesterday as well, but things seem to be sorted out now. Very irritating being unable to access the status pages, but there you go. Thanks for your help.
