Getting terrestrial TV from telewest socket

hi,

I've recently moved into a flat that has a telewest aerial type socket and phone socket already installed, however, all I want is Freeview/terrestrial TV. There isn't a standard TV aerial socket in the flat, so I was wondering if a telewest socket can be converted into a standard aerial socket at all, or if there is likely to be a normal aerial socket under another wall socket somewhere?

Thanks for the help!

Paul

The short answer is no.

A Virgin Media installation is delivered over co-ax cable from a street cable, which is fundamentally different to a Freeview installation fed from an aerial.

There's nothing stopping 2 cables running the same route, using the same holes etc - but they will terminate differently.

Have you asked the landlord if an aerial can be fitted to the roof of the flat?
