Virgin media in a new(ish) estate

Hi all

I wondered if you knew whether virgin could or does expand into private or unadopted roads. I have just moved into a house on a new developed estate built in 2016. The rest of my town has Virgin media and I am wondering whether virgin will ever bother expanding to my road as it is unadopted (private) rather than being a council owned and operated road.

Anyone have any experience with virgin expansion onto these types of road or is it likely that since they haven't bothered in the last 6 years they won't bother now?

Thanks

The answer is very rarely. This is because wayleave has to be obtained from EVERY property in the road, whether they are taking the service or not. It becomes a legal minefield. Also Private roads have a tendency to be block paved or have no pavement, both of which would make expansion too expensive even with wayleave in place.

Some new estates also have “no dig” embargo’s placed on them lasting up to 10 years.
