Incoming virgin cable needs to be moved

Hi, I need to change where the cable enters the house. Black cable from road through wall connected to white box internally. That needs to change to run down the side of the house at ground level then come into an alternative room. 
Can I do this myself or does VIrgin need to do it? I rang spoke to advisor who put me on hold and came back saying I can- but upon seeing lots of posts saying the contrary?

VM will do this for a standard charge of £25.  Do not be temped to DIY this work, as VM will have to check signal levels etc, after any cable alterations.

A VM Mod will pick this up in a day or two.
