Unable to login to hub 4 admin and broadband keeps dropping

Hi. My broadband which vice only had for a month keeps dropping out. I have rebooted my hub. I have a hub4 not a hub3. I have done a factory reset -i still cannot even logon to the 192.168.0.1 with the factory password. I can see the router status logs which show it keeps dropping off. Even in the middle of the night when my google home which is set as a clock and I wake up to it saying no internet connection. It's so intermittent and seems to be getting worse. I don't understand why I cannot even log on to the admin page of the hub. I'm using the correct password. Once my tv box stopped working too. So wonder if there a faulty wire somewhere in the outside of my house?? Any advice?

You do not have to logon to the hub to get full set of stats, only if you want to make changes and you do not.

How to get stats from a VM hub

  1. Open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.1 router mode or 192.168.100.1 modem mode
  2. Click on the “> Check router status” button
  3. Click on the “Downstream” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply
  4. Click on the “Upstream” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply
  5. Click on the “Networking” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply.

You say you can't log into admin page of the hub4, yet you can see the router status logs?

If you are using a 3rd party router as well as the hub then you need to log into 192.168.100.1 and NOT 192.168.0.1

Also make sure you are using the Settings password and not the wifi password, both of which are printed on the base of the hub.

Thanks Dave,  I see where you're coming from, however, I'm not using anything other than the hub 4 that is directly connected the the Virgin Media inlet toly house. Definitely using the admin password and not wifi password.i can see the status  logs because the login screen asked for username and password  (tells me in getting it wrong) -but right at the bottom of the logon screen says view status (you don't have to logon)  am totally baffled.

I am sorry to hear you are having issues, I have checked your power levels and all looks fine. Are you able to set up a BQM graph to monitor your dropouts? You can do so here

 

thanks for your reply Zoie. I will look at how to set up a BQM graph. In the meantime, can you offer any assistance with the fact I cannot log in to my hub, despite doing a pin reset and using the factory password (which I’ve never changed?)

Hi,

The default password is case sensitive.

Meaning if the letters printed on the bottom of the hub are capital or lowercase you must type them capital or lowercase.
