PCM output only on ITV HD

Search didn't bring up a result so apologies if this has been Answered. 

ITV HD is only outputting  PCM audio to my soundbar. All others, ITV2 HD etc. are outputting Dolby. ITV HD via Freeview or Freesat is outputting Dolby. Is this an issue with my eqipment or generally.

My Denon AVR sometimes receives PCM and outputs it either stereo or Dolby PLII dependant on the broadcast.

PCM is the broadcast version. ProLogicII is a conversion that the amp optionally does but the source is still PCM 2.0.

  • Hi, this is nothing to do with virgin, ITVs website clearly states they only broadcast in stereo.
