So I moved from Oomph to Volt and was told I'll get a new SIM card.
VM took the PAC code and I was told I'll keep my old mobile number.
I have the new O2 SIM card up and running with a new number and the old Virgin card is still up and running with the old number.
I called O2 who re-took the old number and PAC code - but no change.
How long should it take for the new card to refresh with the old number?

Thanks for your post @ozsat, and I'm sorry to hear of the issue with the number port from Virgin Mobile to O2.
Can you please confirm when O2 took the PAC code from your recent call?
Number ports usually take approximately 24 hours to complete - except over weekends.
When the phone number switches from Virgin Mobile to O2, this should then also deactivate the account.

After a couple of restarts it all swapped over correctly by lunchtime.
O2 had the code for two days - but the SIM was only active for the second day.
