When try to dial an 00800 number on my mobile, the call appears to connect, but I can't hear anything. Calls to other numbers work fine and I can use the same 00800 number fine on my (BT) landline. It's important because the particular 00800 number is an international number for roadside assistance, so would be stuck if my car broke down.

Can't find anything on Virgin but my own provider, Vodafone, charges 45p per minute and I'm told 02 charge similar

Thanks Enlli for your input again but I have unlimited minutes and no spending cap set.
I i have previously dialled this number without issue from my mobile. There is no reason for me not to be able to dial the numvber.
