My 18 month contract ends whilst I'm on holiday for a month (so not around to do the renewal dance). They won't be able to contact me but I am on DD. The discounts end after which it'll go up to £65 from £45
My question is if I don't renew or contact them, does the contract just turn into a (pricier) rolling one? We're looking to move soon to an area with definitely no Virgin, so a rolling (but albeit more expensive) contract would be financially beneficial...

My 18 month contract run out and I carried on paying what I was paying when it run out. I have just renewal my contract for another 18 months, over 6 months after it run out.

Hi @unkolko2 👋.
Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community Forums. When renewing your contract, you are able to start the renewal process 30 days prior to your contract end, that is when the discounts and deals will unlock for you. This can be done via our contact team 📞 0345 454 1111, menu options 1, 4, & 4 (thinking of leaving us), or our webchat is available as well as via the Community Forums.
I shall send you a private message should you wish to look into your renewal via this channel.

Yes, the old contract ends and you are automatically put onto a rolling 30-day contract at the new higher price.
As you said... you are better off on this as you can cancel with no penalty fees within 30 days notice.

maybe not the best advice above afaik - if you are going to move to an area which VM do not serve then they cancel any early disconnection fees - i think they initially charge them and refund them once you move - so - if i am correct - a new contract at a lower figure is in your favour cost wise - you obviously need to double check the current T & C's
