Moving into new house that already has Virgin Broadband, set up time?

We are moving into a house next week that already has Virgin Broadband and Telephone set up. We are currently with BT. If we wanted to take over and sign up to a  Virgin broadband and telephone bundle, how long would it take to set up? When I filled out the online form it said it would be free set up. Does that mean no engineer would need to come out? That we would just be sent the new box etc and install it? How long until we receive this? Can I only apply once the current owners have told Virgin they are moving out?
