Hi, I'm going to be moving house soon. The house we're moving to already has a Virgin Media account but he's said he's planning to cancel it the day before we move in. Just wondering if/how we can get a smooth handover process?

We have seen this exact situation before.
The new order for your service will typically not be accepted / processed until the current service has been terminated.

The current account holder has to give VM 30 days notice to cancel. Your best chances, if you can liaise with him, will be to try to get his 30 day notice period timed to end when you move in so you can start your new service.
