Hi,
We've been on FTTP 500Mbps for the last month without too many issues, until last night around 10pm when the internet died and the Hub 5X started flashing red. I rebooted several times, reset, but still nothing. Hoped it would fix itself over night, but hasn't so I've come here for some help. I see lots of people with the same problem recently, but none mention a resolution.
Looking at the router config page I see:
Network access: Not allowed
Not encouraging! Is there anything I can try other than get an engineer to have a look? Any help much appreciated!
Rich
p.s. why do these things always happen at the weekend?!

Firstly, log into the My Virgin Media app (if you can) and see if there are any faults in your area.
You can also run checks on your equipment from there.
Failing that, I'm afraid it's going to be a painful phone call to Virgin Media.

Thanks Kev. Finally fixed now after > 24 hours. Apparently it was a fibre break somewhere down the line which caused an area outage (not that VM ever admitted it). Spent a long time on the phone, but the agent was very helpful and did their best to try to resolve it - not easy to mend fibre from India!
