Landline number port

Hi all.

How long should it take to port a landline number from Sky to VM?

Engineer came to install BB and phone services on 7/12.  Successfully did broadband but could not do landline number port as, he advised, the timeframe for doing so had expired (installation was originally planned for 24/8, but was dogged by construction delays).  Thus request had to be put into back office to re-request. 

Chased VM via WhatsApp on Saturday 17/12 as nothing had happened.  Was told port would be completed within 72 hours.    That time has now elapsed and still landline is being provided by Sky (incoming calls through Openreach socket into which phone is plugged).

Am I being impatient or should something have happened by now?   Getting really fed up with the broken promises and want it sorted as still paying Sky for the old service so I don’t lose the number.
