Can't receive UK calls in Qatar

I am on holiday in Qatar with a virgin mobile UK sim. My son from the UK can't call me. I have the right settings in my account. Can anyone help?

My work related system in the UK could not ring the UK number as I had it set to £0 as it's very costly and hence my work system would not work. But when I changed the UK number to a Qatari number on my work system, everything was OK. So the lesson to learn is that whichever country you are in, use a local number. In my case all I needed was to be able to connect to my work system so I could work as normal. Hope that helps.
