Can't change password?

In the box to type new password the words too short appear in red in the box while typing the first three characters. When I type in the forth get the words illegal password appear. Whatever I type, even between eight and ten characters its still there? So can't confirm it and make the change.

Anyone know why this is happening? ATM still using original password, but cos of message from Google informing of a password breach, might be a good idea?

Assuming you are referring to a VM password change, VM's password criteria may possibly be the issue, which I think is ...

8 characters min, 10 characters max
Upper and lower case letters and numbers only in the password
Must start with a letter

Can't recall though if VMs system dynamically checks this as you type.
