I used to have a virgin media tv box which I had removed, however, my VM hub which is in use is located upstairs, so my question is can I just move my Hub to the connection that my tv box was connected to?

You could try. The downstairs point may not be active and it could also affect your signal levels. You could check levels before and after.

How to get stats from a VM hub (no need to logon to the hub)

Open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.1 router mode or 192.168.100.1 modem mode

  • Click on the “> Check router status” button
  • Click on the “Downstream” tab, copy the text and paste into notepad
  • Click on the “Upstream” tab, copy the text and paste into notepad
  • Click on the “Networking” tab, copy the text and paste into your notepad.
