WIX / Other hosted website issue (Fault Ticket - F010146344)

Hello,

We're sorry that some of you are unable to access certain websites that are hosted on the WIX platform ( and other website hosts). 

We're aware that it's only affecting North London and the error message you've given us are :DNS NXDOMAIN error, DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN.

To ensure we're covering any possible wider issues, please post in the main thread if:

- You are outside of North London and cannot access any WIX hosted websites

-  it is a non WIX hosted website e.g. Lyrical Host and provide the postcode you're trying to access from

We're currently working with Google and WIX to investigate the issue and we're sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Edit -  We have made some changes whilst we're waiting on updates from WIX's checks with Google. Please post in the main thread if you're able to access the sites or are still having problems. We are still investigating the issue but have a temporary work around.

Hi,

Thank you all for being patient with us whilst we looked into the reason why some of our customers from North London were unable to connect to websites hosted on the WIX platform.

We spoke to Google and submitted data for them to check and subsequently worked with WIX, sharing our own findings and asking them to check their side and to speak to Google as something was amiss. We found that the issue was off the Virgin Media network after several confirmations from Google.

Even though it was off our network and whilst waiting for updates, we created a workaround that directed traffic around an affected DNS server which comprised our redundancy. We weren’t required to do this but felt that it was the right thing to do. Since then, we’ve worked with Google who have fixed the issue fully, something which was beyond our remit and we’ve gone back to routing the traffic as it was previously.
