Phone Line Dead

I have just tried to phone out and both phones lines (one number) are dead, so it's not a phone problem but the line.

I had a friend call me, who said that the line is ringing - but I clearly can't answer as it's not ringing at my end.  

The solution after the Virgin 'test' online is to phone 150.  I obviously can't phone.

What's the next step please?

Our problem is, people can ring us, and they can hear us when we answer, but we can't hear them, all we can hear is crackling. And also, we can't ring out either. We get the dialling tone and input the number to ring, but nothing happens. Just rang up (from my mobile) and the earliest appointment for an engineer is Wednesday morning, so I've had to take that, as there was nothing sooner.

A friend tried to call for assistance and just got music.  

I tried their live chat and just got a robot.

I looked at the Virgin Downtime page and see an awful lot of complaints.

Thanks you to Geraldine at Virgin Facebook Forum and Mark on Live Chat for professional and fast remedy Monday morning.

All fixed by two engineers who called me before arriving at 11.30 to remedy fault - phone back in action by noon.

Note: Virgin could do with a better weekend coverage for customers with problems - but weekdays it's efficient in my experience.
