Mobile phone concerns

Hi,

Can anyone help?

I have two mobile phone plans both 4G 5000mins + 20GB.

One plan is priced at £15.86 and the other £16.43?

Although only 43p difference can see the rim or reason?

Also, each plan states:

"Sorry, you’re not eligible for Family Plan just yet"

If anyone can provide guidance or is there better plans out there for the price?

I have been with Vigin media / NTL for many, many years and sadly though of a lot less than new customers which I believe is the way the Virgin group apply their business.

Hope someone can add some light on the above.

Many thanks

Mike

Re: Mobile phone concerns

When you say better plans it really comes down to what you actually use.

Is 20Gb right or do you use a lot less

5000 minutes, how many would use that

Actually, 20GB for around £15 is not too bad, although they have a promo for new customers at £13 which is annoying

Re: Mobile phone concerns

Thank you very much Enlli for the advice and very helpful information.

I believe you right I do not use half of the data or calls?

Looking at the package its the best value when looking at other packages that I can change too.

Its very sad that Virgin do not respect long standing customers and expect them not to leave due to the hassle!

£13 a month is excellent.

I contacted GiffGaff and they can offer me 40G data and unlimited minutes and texts for £14 for two sim cards (£28).

Also, £9 for 10G and unlimited minutes and texts (£18).

Told them I would think about it as they were very keen to close the deal?

Will have to work out what I need before deciding on the packages but £14 is good and only a pound less than new Virgin customers?

I should have asked them about a deal on the 6G and unlimited minutes and texts which are normally £10 each on their website.

My son has been using GiffGaff for years and always gets a good deal once the contact completes.

Did think it was wiser to keep everything under one roof Virgin?

Thanks again

Mike

Re: Mobile phone concerns

Have a look at 30 day packages (sadly no longer on Virgin) A little more expensive that 12 month but you can change them up and down with your needs.

Re: Mobile phone concerns

Thanks for the advice and information.

I will ring GiffGaff tomorrow and see if the offer of 10G + unlimited calls and text on their monthly plan?

If not, £18 for two sim cards I presume is a good deal, a lot better than anything Virgin can offer an existing good customer?

Any good deals out there please let me know, thanks.

Kindest regards

Mike

Re: Mobile phone concerns

If you really did want to keep all with Virgin, and your SIM's are now on 30day rolling contracts - you could change to the new offer at £13 if your prepared for another 12 month contract.

Myself, I think there are as good 30day SIM plans elsewhere available without being tied into for the next year.

Were those Giffgaff on 30day plans?.

Re: Mobile phone concerns

Thanks for the reply and support.

I will see what GiffGaff offer tomorrow as leaving Virgin mobile and then re-signing is too much hassle and back to being tied to a 12 month contract.

£18 is far cheaper than Virgins £26 presently £32.

Nothing wrong with Virgin mobile a good company but like gas and electric you should change to ensure competitive are maintained.

Maybe a big maybe Virgin will support existing customers a little more once they start losing them.

Thanks again

Re: Mobile phone concerns

I believe I should stop discussing better packages out there than Virgin.

Not fair on Virgin using their forum to pass on better deals.

Recently Alex has been very supportive with my excess home phone charges and helped tremendously.

I do believe my data is far too high on both accounts 40G, so will look into it.

Sorry Virgin, keep my researched better mobile deals to myself.

Kindest regards

Mike

To take on a new plan with Virgin at the new discounted price, you do not need to actually leave.

It's speaking to the right people (not 789), I've used the text service before 07533016422 to swap to a new plan at a discounted price - who put a note on my account and gave a number to ring so a credit check and 12 month agreement could be done over the phone.
