The copy from a Virgin Email last week shows an iphone 12 having an A15 Chip. 

All internet search results show iphone 12 having A14 chip and A15 only being introduced with iphone 13.

Can anyone confirm if Virgin information is correct?

Sorry to hear that you have received an email with misinformation. I have raised this with the team to investigate further. 

Apple iPhone 12 has an A 14 chip as far as I am aware and also this is what is advised on Apple's own website. My apologies for this and any confusion it may have caused.
