I also have this issue, and it only happens playing through the Tivo box, so much so I cannot use it.

So I use the following solution:

I got to BBC iPlayer on line

Get to the programme I want

Plugin my Google Chromecast to the TV

And view the program in HD using my phone wirelessly and casting it to the Chromecast!

How can the Tivo box be so poor at streaming, when I can quite happily do it through my phone?? I never had this issue with Sky! This is completely unacceptable, and Virgin Media should be sorting this out, although as I suspect, they have you trapped in a 12 month contract, so do not really care!

I’ve given up on bbc iplayer, keep being told engineers working on problem but have had it since taking out virgin nearly 12 months now, contract nearing end may have to go back to sky.

It was a terrible service for a full THREE YEARS, but it seems that recently upgrading to their  V6 box solved this issue because it has a faster processor. Mind you, Virgin DID NOT offer me the new box that was launched many months ago, I had to contact them and enquire about it.... Hmmm

I left Virgin for SKY so iplayer problem solved. No buffering whatsoever. It's immediate

Just had a new box and fibre installed and iPlayer is completely unwatchable. The buffering is constant. Other apps black out every few minutes. This is a totally unacceptable service. 

It's actually worse than the equipment that was replaced and it was also poor. Very disappointed to see that this ongoing issue has not been resolved

Welcome to the community.

I am sorry to hear that you're having this experience with the apps.  I have taken a look and carried out some checks and everything is looking ok from here so far signal wise. 

I'd like to gather a little more information if that is ok?  If you can reply with the following please:

* Does it happen at certain times of the day?

* Does a reboot fix the problem (even if it's only temporary)?:

* Do you have any problems with your Broadband connection?

Hi.

Thanks for your reply. It happens at all times of the day. A reboot does not fix it and the broadband ( fibre, I believe) is criminally slow. We've run tests.
