What speed should I expect?

When I subscribed to the M100 Fibre Broadband service I was led to believe I should expect a download speed of about 108Mbps however I've never seen this speed when checking. Normally speedtest.net reports between 70-80Mbps. All testing is done on a Windows 10 PC using ethernet cat5 cabling.

Your advice would be appreciated.

Re: What speed should I expect?

Does your PC have a 10/100 Ethernet port because that's the sort of speed I'd expect if you didn't have a 100/1000 port

Re: What speed should I expect?

could also be the cat5 cable - you would be better with cat5e or better

Re: What speed should I expect?

Okay I've checked and tested my cabling which is all cat5e. My PC has a gigabit connection to a Netgear GS108 switch. The Hub will only connect to the switch at 100 Mbps which seems to be the problem. I was previously with BT and their smart hub had no problems with the gigabit connection.

Re: What speed should I expect?

take the switch out of the equation and test the pc wired directly to the Hub
