Its been 24hs now and still getting 70mb on vivid 350

How long does it take for my Internet to goto 350 as I was promised I've now had virginmedia for 24hrs and I'm still getting the same speeds as plusnet should I be patient or be angry

If you sign in to myvirginmedia and run the broadband test it will download the new config to your hub, otherwise it can be slow waiting for it to update by itself.

Also you need the hub3 for the top speeds and speedtests should be run wired not wi-fi on speedtest.net

Re: Its been 24hs now and still getting 70mb on vivid 350

have they sent the config file - would not be the first time its not happened

log into hub3 - 192.168.0.1 [or 192.168.100.1 if in modem mode] - DON'T SIGN IN, click - click router status [centre of screen] - and post the config figures - to see those press on the grey button/box labeled configuration

as said above speed tests should be done wired

I do understand what your saying but 70mg to 350mg you must be joking I'm a wireless engineer and I know about loss from wireless to wired and it won't be 90%

Re: Its been 24hs now and still getting 70mb on vivid 350

ok - that confirms you are on 350 or at least the config file is correct

you need to run a wired test from a pc with a gigabit card and using a cat5e cable or better - depending on what that show do the same test in modem mode if its slow

if you get good speeds wired then we know its a wifi problem - split the bands and turn off smart wifi

Re: Its been 24hs now and still getting 70mb on vivid 350

is cat5 a typo - needs to be 5e or better

post the levels

log into hub3 - 192.168.0.1 [or 192.168.100.1 if in modem mode] - DON'T SIGN IN, click - click router status [centre of screen] - and post the downstream and upstream figures - to see those press on the grey buttons/boxes labeled - upstream - downstream

if its an earlier hub button is top right
