UniFi and Modem Mode on SH3

I keep trying to use the SH3 as a ‘bridge’ for an access point, yet when I put the SH into modem mode I lose internet and everything. Everything is fine up to that point.

I don’t want to have two WiFi signals. Yet this seems to be the only way. Should I create a separate SSID for the access point?

Many thanks.

Re: UniFi and Modem Mode on SH3

Are you using a UniFi router then?

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired 2 WiFi,) SH2 in modem mode with Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's. On VIVID200, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

No, I’m an access point, attached by a cable to the Virgin router.

Re: UniFi and Modem Mode on SH3

If it is just an access point then you can’t put the VM hub into modem mode since then there is nothing providing the routing and NAT functions. In this case, leave the hub in router mode but go into the web interface for it and disable both the 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless bands.

Re: UniFi and Modem Mode on SH3

Or you can get a router and use the hub in modem mode.
