I cannot call 111, 150 or other similar number from my landline. I doubt I could call 999 if I needed to.
how do I trace where the problem is and who needs to fix it.
I use virgin for internet and landline only.
This should have been a quick call to customer services but that seems to be impossible.
I am finding no help from virgin and any chat or support lines are very poor.

I'm sorry to hear of the landline issues. I've ran a background check here and there seems to be no issues. Is this now resolved or do you need further help?

Thanks for coming back to me. Sorry to hear it's still ongoing. Just gonna run through a few diagnostics;
Do you have a dial tone on the landline?
Is your phone line plugged directly into the wall, or via an extension?
Have you got any other pieces of equipment plugged into the landline? These can be other telephones, faxes etc
Can you also unplug the phone line for me, wait two minutes, and then replug in.
