Are the odd and even house numbers on opposite sides of the road? If so I would guess that that underlies the reason - some underground geographic blocker perhaps?

In my area all one side of the street with odd numbers have one post code and the other side with even numbers have a different post code. Perhaps there is an error in the VM postcode checker, it’s not an unknown occurrence. Perhaps a VM staff member can help you out?
