Virgin Media vs Openreach FTTP

Openreach FTTP just became available in my area so I signed up with Plusnet for its 500 Mbps service. I thought some of you might be interested to see the Speedtest results from both providers. Same router, Openreach PON for Plusnet and Hub 3 in modem mode for Virgin.

VM 500: Download: 519 Upload: 36.59. Latency: idle 23 download 50 upload 15

Plusnet 500: Download: 510 Upload: 70.50. Latency: idle 7 download 15 upload 11

I've had to pay an early termination fee to Virgin Media but I think it was worth it. I pay £31 a month for Plusnet and I had negotiated £29 a month for VM.

Tasty latency and upload. Also no offshore CS... 

I'm not a Very Insightful Person (just a little bit, sometimes). I don't work for Virgin Media (but then nor do any of the offshore customer service agents).
