I will be receiving a new Hub but before I do I have some questions..

Does it still use F connecters at both ends so I can still use the old cable.

Why is the supplied cable called a isolator  and how long is it

If you already have a hub, and are just swapping one, you should be able to use the existing coax connections and just swap the hubs over. Different hub models have different power supplies AFAIK so you would also need to use new the power supply for the new hub.

The isolator is an electronic component which is now built into VM connecting leads. Looks like a white plastic tube inserted into the cable, probably 75-ish mm long. It provides electrical separation from the VM equipment in the street. The standard VM cable length is 1.5m, I believe.

In the past, the isolator was built into the VM wall box either one per wall box or one covering the installation. VM now provides them inline in the leads. You should ensure there is an isolator somewhere in the connection to the equipment.

This is an isolator within a wall box (box removed)

It does have a isolator in the box as I suspected  so does not need another

I hope the existing 5m long cable will work as a 1.5m cable would not even get it down the door frame.

I hope the power supply is smaller than the Hub 2 one which takes up a lot of space on my power sockets

Should be a straightforward swap over. You can always post back on here if there is a problem.
