Im moving house next week and Virgin need to do pre-installation work but just been told they cant yet do this as need council permissions ? This sounds like an excuse and the start of a long battle? Has anyone had any experience for waiting for council?

Yes, they do need council permits to dig the pavement or road. Usually it is just a formality that takes a few days, but if traffic control measures are required some roads have restrictions on them. For example, some roads can only have works scheduled at weekends.

Our local council responds within two working days, for pavement work.

You can check with the council to ensure that a permit has been applied for to ensure this isn't isn't just being used as an excuse for delay

Hi @stewart_a_j

Welcome to the community forums

Sorry to hear that your install has been delayed due to needed external works.

If we require to work on public/council owned land, then yes this can cause delays unfortunately.  I can assure you that the teams will already be working hard to complete the necessary works to allow the install to go ahead.

I can see on the systems at our side that you have spoken with the team who have supported further. Please let us know if you are having any further issues or have any questions at all. We'll be here to help on the community forums if needed :).
