Secondary email issue

This morning my secondary e-mail stopped sending via Outlook and is showing as locked in vMail.
I later received an e-mail to my primary account saying there had been a potential security breach.
Following their advice I changed my MyVM login password (having to set up a new external e-mail address to do this, and amended the primary email password, which is now working correctly.
However my secondary email won't let me change the MyVM login details, and won't let me change the email pw without doing so. I'm stuck in a loop with a locked email account.

p.s. these are blueyonder emails. I have change my primary MyVM login to gmail.

Each secondary account now has its own My Virgin Media account.  What error message do you get when trying to change the username and password for the secondary address following the same process that you went through for the primary address?

I login to MyVm using my secondary account, when I try to change the e-mail address I get:
"You've recently requested to change the email address you use to sign in to My Virgin Media. Please check your emails and verify this change before making further account changes." ... of course this was for the primary email.

If I try and get a new app pw then it tells me I need a new external email address.
