Would you be able to advise about 2G & 3G networks, possible switch off timescales? Also could please advise which countries in Europe will allow 3G roaming with Virgin Media/O2. Thanks

I could answer this but I'm not a Virgin Employee. Anyway there won't be Virgin mobile after December, so O2 is a better choice.

O2 is the only major operator to have not announced a timescale for 3G switchoff. You may draw your own conclusions.

No UK operator has any plans for 2G switchoff, equipment is still being installed.
