Removing redundant telephone sockets

I was switched by Virgin to fibre phone via Hub 3 last year. I'm about to renovate a room which has a now unused BT telephone socket. Can I simply remove the socket, cut the cable and make good the plasterboard before redecorating?

In a word, yes.

Hi Huwruby 👋🏼.

Thank you for posting and welcoming you back onto the community forum 😊.

Nice to see you are renovating your room, hope it turns out well 😊.

You can remove the socket as it is unused and most providers are looking to move to a router based landline in the future.
