We’ve got the free mobile calls option on our Home Phone but the call volume is very low.
We have to switch the phone over to loudspeaker and hold the phone to our ear to hear the call. Dial tone is nice and strong.
Land line calls are better.
We’ve whacked up the volume on the handset to maximum
Can anyone help please.
Thanks

Hi Phil1955,
Thanks for taking the time to post the Community. It's great having you on board with us. ✨
We're sorry to hear you're having some issues with the volume on calls through your landline.
We don't have any way to control the volume of connected phone calls from this end as this is controlled by your handset itself. Didn't brands will have different volumes so it's worth trying a different handset to see if this helps.
Just a few other questions too:
Pop back and let us know so we can help provide further help and support 🙂
Many thanks,

Hi Kath
The volume was ok when we had the iced system but has progressively got worse other the Hub 3 VOIP system
We have two different types of phones and they are both quiet. As I say the dial tone is strong.
Looks like we have to put up with it if there is nothing you can do.

Hi @Phil1955 thanks for your reply.
We would advise trying an alternative handset (we appreciate you have two at the mo) to see if this fixes things but if not, please keep us posted.
Many thanks

Hi Tom
We do actually have three handsets and they are all about the same (2 different Philips ones and an oldish Siemens Gigaset).
I think our problem is we are comparing it with the volume we get from a mobile phone which seems much higher.
it just seems that Virgin could turn the volume up a little bit higher to make it better.

Thanks for coming back to us Phil1955,
We do apologise that an alternative handset has not made a difference with the sound. Unfortunately, this is something we're unable to control from our end as this is controlled by your handset itself.
We do apologise that we could not assist further with this matter.
Kind regards Jodi.
