Resolved! Router having problems in modem mode

If I put my router in modem mode I  get a red (not magenta) light and unable to connect a mesh system, which I need as router wifi is not reaching parts of my bungalow. Any help appreciated. 

Moving external cable

We are having our front door replaced soon and currently have a cable running to a Virgin Media box outside through a hole in the door frame. How do we contact someone about getting a technician out to move the cable?
