While doing that... locate your external wall mounted omnibox and trace where the cables from it enter into your property. The connection cable should be on the other side of that incoming "hole". If there is no wall box there, it may just be a loose cable - and may be hidden/decorated over. Or removed by previous occupant - the Tech will re-install
