Landline always sounding engaged

Hi, since this morning, my landline phone can not receive calls. When people try calling, it constantly sounds engaged. Can someone please help. Area hd62bu. Thank you

Thanks for posting and welcome back to the community. Sorry to hear of the landline issues. We've ran a system check and no issues are showing.

Have you got another landline phone you can try just to rule it out as being a phone issue?

Hi, there were people who were doing some cabling work this morning. We told them ever since they had been working, we had the problem. They then said that another house on my street had the same issue. I do not have a spare phone to try
