Can only add stream to broadband not tv?

Hi all, my area is currently being rolled out and my Father in Law received letter today about signing up, (i'm still waiting for mine).

Have been on the virgin site to see what is available for him but am unable to order TV, only options are for broadband, once that is selected lets me add Virgin Stream, however actually wanted the full package so he can record shows ect.

Is this a new way forward and stream is the only way or is there some other reason why a "proper" TV package can't be added?

Sounds like you are in a new GPON fibre only area. VM do not, at present, have a TV package for these areas, only the stream box. VM may in the future offer this, but I would not hold your breath.

Not quite the same I know, but have a look at the Humax range of Freeview recorders.  It might suffice?
